About Keyboard Switches

A keyboard switch (button) is the core component of a keyboard, directly determining the tactile feel, lifespan, and response speed of the keys. Based on structure, keyboard switches are mainly classified into mechanical, membrane, and capacitive types. Mechanical switches are highly popular for their distinct tactile feedback and long lifespan, commonly used in gaming and office keyboards. Membrane switches, on the other hand, are widely used in regular keyboards due to their low cost and soft feel. Capacitive switches, known for their contactless triggering and extremely high sensitivity, hold a place in high-end keyboards. Modern keyboard switches also incorporate designs such as RGB backlighting, dust resistance, and water resistance, enhancing user experience and catering to personalized needs.
